Halo Tu' Beauty x The Prom Project

Jazzy Jam Glam presents The Prom Dress & Suit Give Away

Prom season is a milestone that high school seniors should be able to celebrate. However, prohibitive costs often determine whether a student can attend. I remember the excitement of planning my own prom—the colors, the theme, and the realization of the expenses involved. I went home and told my sister Amalia that I needed a dress for prom, and she said, "Don't worry, I'll make one for you!"

I was fortunate that Mia (that is what we call her) used the sewing skills she learned from our grandmother, Mama Jewell, to make me a beautiful one-shoulder lavender taffeta dress. I thought taffeta was so fancy; I just loved saying it whenever I was asked what dress I would be wearing to prom. It took about two weeks as she worked on it gradually, then came the day for me to try it on.

I felt royal! That dress was made from love, and my heart has never forgotten her caring enough to make it for me. I wasn't just wearing a dress; I was wearing love with an assurance in lavender that my needing a dress mattered to her.

In that same spirit of care, Halo Tu’ Beauty has the pleasure of supporting "The Prom Project" in Pasadena, CA. This organization provides high school seniors with a boutique experience, offering free prom dresses, suits, and accessories, along with on-site styling from entertainment industry professionals. The dresses were beautiful, and the suits were impeccable!

For the past two years, Halo Tu’ Beauty has donated lip glosses to the dress boutique as a surprise gift for the seniors being fitted for their dresses. Witnessing their excitement firsthand is deeply touching and aligns perfectly with our brand philosophy of Kindness, Love, and Glamour—values inspired by our mother, Juanita, and our grandmother, Mama Jewell. This year, it was a particular honor to support students from communities impacted by the Eaton Canyon fire. We've also provided snacks for the dedicated staff and volunteers who make this "village" possible.

Just as my sister used her talent to ensure I could attend my prom, Halo Tu’ Beauty is committed to ensuring these students feel celebrated and supported. They have seen what a fire can burn; we want them to feel what a community of love can ignite.

Kindness, Love, and Glamour,

Adrian
