3 Yards of Fabric, Creativity and a Royal Inspired Wedding!
Mama Jewell taught us how to sew and creatively utilize fabric whether it be yards of fabric, yarn or small scraps there is something you can lovingly create to wear for every occasion. Well this particular occasion was across the pond in dear old London, England when her teachings promptly came to the forefront of my mind. You see my sister Anita and I were invited to a wedding being held at a castle in England. I was also a member of the wedding party reading a special scripture during the royal inspired ceremony.
When we arrived, the airlines informed me that my luggage was delayed and would not arrive until the following morning. Interestingly enough before I checked my bags, I removed 3 yards of fabric I that I brought with me to use as a shawl over my dress as well as an additional layer of warmth to use on the plane. Due to the drive being very early the following morning, I'd miss the delivery of my luggage which meant I needed something else to wear to the wedding with no time to shop for another dress!
As my mind was processing the situation Anita says, Mama would make something, and we are Juanita's daughters, so we don't panic we plan and then I said Mama Jewell taught us how to create with fabric so let's get started!
Mama had an elegance to everything she wore so I focused on this as I became inspired, I immediately received a " Vision ", swiftly instructing Anita to twist, turn, tie and wrap the fabric on me allowing the dress to gradually come forth.
It was as if Mama and Mama Jewell were guiding us until it took full form beautifully coming to life and I get chills even now just thinking about it!
We finished just in time making our shuttle to the castle...whew!
As we passed the beautiful English countryside it was surreal to see the castle in the distance wearing this dress that did not exist a few hours ago. My sister and I channeled love to make this dress, and I felt a warm loving glow all around me.
Once we arrived, I received so many compliments on my dress. I was continuously asked what designer I was wearing and where did I have it delivered from as they would like to order it in several colors...what a compliment!
I basked in this loving warm "Glow " from morning to an enchanted starry night.
It is truly an unforgettable experience, the majesty of it all is awe inspiring.
